Voting event statuses
What Draft, Upcoming, Ongoing, and Ended mean.
The status comes from the start and end times.
| Status | When | Voting | Registration | Editing |

| Draft | No start time set | Closed | Open if enabled | Anything |
| Upcoming | Start time is in the future | Closed | Open if enabled, until its closing time or the start | Anything |
| Ongoing | Between start and end | Open | Closed | Limited, to protect the ballot |
| Ended | End time passed, or you ended it early | Closed | Closed | Limited |
You can Start voting event now from Draft or Upcoming, and End voting event now from Ongoing. See Voting event actions.
Results follow their own switches, not the status. See Results and visibility.
Status looks wrong?
Check the start and end times and your timezone, then refresh. If the event says it is locked and you did not expect that, contact support with the event code.
