Self-registration

Let candidates and election voters sign up through a public link.

Candidates can self-register in elections and polls. Voters can self-register in elections only. Either way, you approve each one before they take part.

Turn it on

In Voting Event Settings → Public Registration:

  • Candidate Can Register. Optionally let candidates contest more than one position, and set a closing time.
  • Voter Can Register (elections). Optionally require a Voter ID and a rule it must match, and set a closing time.

Then copy the registration links from Share Links. Each link already contains the event code.

When registration closes

Registration is open while the switch is on and the event is Draft or Upcoming. It closes when voting starts, when the event ends, or at the closing time you set. A closing time needs a voting start time and must be earlier than it. Voter registration also stops when the event reaches its voter capacity.

Once registration closes, its link disappears from Share Links.

Charging candidates

On Starter or Custom plans, you can charge a fee at candidate registration. See Pay to Register.
